We hopped off the train bright and early (6.30am) in Memphis.
Had 4 hours to kill before our bus to Nashville. Little did we know, Memphis ain't that big. We went to the bus station where we were leaving from thinking we'd be able to hang out there and get food. We were wrong. There was about 6 benches and nothing to do. We ended up heading over to the subway/gas station across the road and killing time there.
Then got on the bus (after much confusion about what was happening as our bus driver was mental and no one could understand anything he said). Apparently it's normal to take your dog on a 4 hour bus trip?
Got off the bus in Nashville at 3pm and made our way to our hotel, which has a giant guitar shaped swimming pool!
Did a quick couple of loads of washing (finally!) and drying so we had clothes to wear that evening and got ready to head downtown. We went to the famous Jack's BarBeQue for dinner which was an experience, but not as bad as what we thought! Food turned out to be delish - half a smoked chicken and 2 sides haha.
Went to the Ryman Auditorium where we saw the Grand Ole Opry Show. The show is a live radio show so each section had a host and there were live advertisements. Pretty cool seeing a lot of famous country artists perform on a stage where people like Elvis & Johnny Cash have performed!
